If I were a Billy-onaire...

So in mid-April, I had newly dressed dolls sitting on my coffee table because the prospect of putting them back into the dark and inadequate shelves was daunting. It daunted me into a dull state of dauntedness -- in which I limply lifted bits of fabric, then let them drop sadly -- until I resolutely went to Craig's List and bought me some Billys.

Behold the Billys!
But wait, there's more...

There is a discontinued corner unit for Katie and Hayden's house!

So much space! Such a long haul to the bathroom!
I have a lot of work to do with re-papering the two 1:18 condos' walls (since the old paper doesn't quite fit) and reworking Katie & Hayden's house... but everything is now neatly in one spot, and as funds permit, I can go to IKEA and buy glass doors so that my entire life will not be devoted to dusting.

Space in the living room for parties!
In the same CL binge, I got a new stand for the Steampunk Orchid, giving it a more solid base, plus some drawers for colored pens and such.

Moving is such a pain... furniture everywhere.
I've sold and shipped the last of the dollhouses that I'm not keeping, am trying to sell the old Orchid table, and am in the midst of painting my big sewing chair green before sewing new cushion covers to match the new bed linens. So while the doll-clothes-sewing project is still only half done, the impact on home improvement has been huge.

  1. Awesome! I had totally forgotten about Ikea's amazing Billy bookshelves...I may have to get some for myself:) I love the Liv girls and it's cool to see their little house. I love seeing how other people organize their dolls. The shelves look great!

  4. Great Smaller Places, I love how the Billy's look, they provide a wonderful display space. I once had them and I've been regretting giving them up ever since!

  5. Craigslist for the win! That looks like a great way to store dolls. What I would like to do is get the glass-doored bookcase out of our garage for doll storage. When my youngest was a toddler, she broke the glass in one of the doors, and we haven't used it since. But I hate dusting, plus it's really not good for the dolls.

  6. @Farrah Lily, @JoJo, @jSarie, @billa, @Barb -- Thank you! It's taken me over a week to recover from the excitement, but it is SO NICE to have everything together in one spot.
